You  Are Loved: A Leo Full Moon Ritual
    by Kathy Crabbe

Dear Moon Muser, Thank you for joining me on this celebration of the Full Moon in Leo. Each month I channel inspiring material to help you celebrate the beauty and bounty of our world in a spiritually attuned, Earth Mother kinda way.
Full Moon in Leo Ritual by Kathy Crabbe

    Gentleness
    Heart
    Kindness

Meditate for a moment upon these 3 words. Then free associate what they mean for you specifically. If you have a Moon Journal then write it down in there.

Now, resonate with what that means for you. Just sit quietly with it, no stress, no strain. Then give yourself that kindness, gentleness and heart right now.

Sink, dive, BE in that feeling and knowing-ness for a moment or more.

In your Moon Journal draw a symbol and a word to acknowledge that feeling so you won't ever forget it. Then place that symbol and word (metaphorically) in your third eye and in your heart knowing and trusting that you ARE loved. Always.

    Blessed Be,
    Luv, Kathy Crabbe

Full Moon Lefty Oracle Card of the Month: Kattern is grace under pressure

    Mantra: I am mindful.

Affirmation: I am in perfect alignment with universal flow.

    Element: Fire

    Song
I am firmly rooted in the earth

and flying high in the sky.

My body and mind are present in the now.
    And my heart,

    my heart aches.

I embrace this ache as solace

    slowly, so slowly, returns.
    With grace I accept.

If this card appears in a reading it’s pretty much guaranteed that you’ve got a whole lot goin’ on right now. In fact, in this oracle card Kattern appears to be holding up the sky all on her own, but the key word is ‘grace’. Although your world may be caving in on you right now, you have the fortitude and grace to carry on in style. Your feathers may feel ruffled and your world a shambles, but you do what you need to do without a big fuss or hissy fit. Things are NOT easy right now, but that too will change. So hang tight and wait for reinforcements; both divine and mundane.

In my own life this card symbolized my turning forty which felt like a rollercoaster ride of emotion that I was unprepared for and shake me up it did. I did my best to transform myself and my world by painting a series of divine feminine paintings on huge four foot by four foot canvases to let it all out, the pain, the sorrow, the joy, and it worked! I got those emotions safely out of me without too much damage control required. What a ride! But I kept my head and channeled the energy with grace and style; it was as messy as all get out, but a work of beauty in the end.

    Magnificent Morning
    by Anne-Marie Fryer Wiboltt

Inner radiance or light is an achievement; it is nothing that just happens. It begins with experiencing the feeling of gratitude and wonder of life. It begins with a real intimate relationship with nature and the bounty of food with which she graces us. The food we eat is created within her rhythms. These rhythms – the cycle of the day, the year and the hemispheric seasonal changes of the earth – belong to the life processes of the earth as well as to the spirit of the earth because the spirit of the earth lives and creates within these life processes. In my imagination the spirit of the earth is the spirit of Love.

The Age of Technology can become an age where we live our lives without rhythms. A life without rhythm is a life without Life. It is essential that we create a new and fresh relationship with the world and that can happen through the art of cooking. The living art of cooking awakens wonder for the abundance of nature in her beauty and polarities. It shows that the food we eat is created by active life forces imbued with special qualities and has different properties we consciously can make use of in our daily and medicinal cooking. We learn to continue nature’s creative processes in our own kitchen and to create artistically, well-balanced meals in harmony with each season. We are guided to the understanding that every selection of food, every cutting style and every cooking method have a different qualitative effect on our whole being, including how we feel and think. But this living art of cooking is more than an enjoyable, health-giving, creative activity.

The living art of cooking reaches toward the sacred within nature. It leads us on a path of wonder, gratitude and reverence. How do we, for example, create a meal in balance with the morning mood? Morning resembles spring time where the world seems to awaken and stir with new life. We feel the upward drawing forces of levity. In the eastern sky, the first light presses night away ever so gently. It is as if the goddess of dawn, in colors of magenta, is heralding the birthing of the sun. The dark, almost black horizon softens as the goddess draws after her a golden veil. What a magnificent moment when the first speck of light shows. As the earth awakens, lifting and breathing out it life forces we too experience, with certainty, the flow of creativity.

At mid-day the sun reaches its highest peak. Gazing down from on high the sun creates fewer and shorter shadows and less dramatic colors. Everything is bathed in bright light. Towards evening the earth draws in again. As the golden sun descends it changes into its red garments. The horizon darkens; soon nature and most of its creations will be resting. Dewdrops condense, and birds settle in the trees singing their last songs to the evening. We feel the pull of gravity, the downward moving forces, as we prepare to go to bed. We reflect on our day and harvest the experiences we gained. The stars make their appearance and rekindle awe of the magnificent universe that we are.

Creating beautiful, nourishing meals that resonate with the wisdom and harmony in nature is like living our lives as an open unfolding work of art. This art of cooking is the answer to the materialistic threats of our time and restores dignity of life.

    Spicy Kidney Beans
This spicy hot bean dish brings body heat to the surface. Substitute some of the spices with turmeric, ginger and black pepper.

1 cup kidney beans, cleaned, rinsed and soaked 8 hours
    3 cups cold water
3-inch piece of kombu sea vegetable
    4 tablespoons olive oil
    1/4 teaspoon oregano
    1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon crushed red chili pepper or a pinch of cayenne.
    1 onion, diced small
    1/2 stalk celery diced small
    2 tablespoons tamari soy sauce
2 tablespoons fine cut parsley for garnish

Drain beans and discard soaking water. Place the beans in a pot or pressure cooker. Add water. Bring to a rapid boil and skim off any foam that arises. Add kombu, place the lid on the pot or pressure cooker.  If boiling the beans, let them simmer until completely soft. This may take 3-4 hours. Add water whenever necessary. Otherwise, pressure-cook beans for one hour over very low heat. Turn off heat and let pressure come down slowly, on its own.

Meanwhile, heat a big skillet. Add oil, and sauté spices and herbs quickly, then, add onions, and sauté for 2 minutes. Place lid on skillet and simmer for 20 seconds. Add celery and sauté a few minutes, before adding beans and enough cooking liquid for the bean dish to be saucy. Let it all simmer for 10 minutes.

Season the beans with tamari soy sauce and sea salt.  Garnish. Serve as part of a hearty winter breakfast.

Intuitively we know that cultured and fermented foods are real health foods. Naturally fermented and cultured foods are an exceptional way to prepare different ingredients and some of the most important side dishes and condiments in our diet. They are often overlooked or not mentioned when we describe what we had for dinner, and yet they are pivotal in creating a well-balanced, nutritious meal.

They add a bounty of nourishing, life-promoting substances and life forces, almost miraculous curative properties, and a wealth of colors, flavors, and shapes. They increase the appetite, stimulate the digestion, and make any simple meal festive and satisfying. The course will be highly practical with many hands-on activities.

    No Spring without Winter!
    by Anne-Marie Fryer

We just finished harvesting the fall vegetables from the garden beds. It is not long ago everything was growing vigorously. What has happened to the life of the garden? Where did all the life forces (or may I say fairies) go? The drawing in of life forces, begins in fall, continues through the beginning of winter and is completed as solstice approaches. These forces condense and stay active below the soil while on top of ground everything seems lifeless and asleep. In winter the sun is above the horizon for the shortest time, but the moon rises higher, staying in the night sky for many more hours than in the summer. In our garden seeds will soon cuddle cozily, under a blanket of snow, waiting for spring to arrive. We snuggle closer to the hearth as winter guides us into a quiet, inward mood of solitude and contemplation.

Springtime is the season of new begins. As the sun climbs higher in the sky we sense the earth exhaling anew ascending currents of life forces. We experience deeply the outward upward growth and opening feeling of renewal as a contrast to the withdrawing of life forces in winter. Through the interplay of the sun and the earth, nature’s power of growth intensifies and millions of tons of leaves and grasses are brought forth within weeks. The new life and vitality of spring fill us with jubilation and hope.

In summer the earth is breathing out its life forces completely. The sun is at its highest, bathing our world in warmth and light. The air feels full and expanded. The growth processes, begun in the spring, are now at their peak, ripening and maturing. The gardens and fields yield a cornucopia of fresh fruits and vegetables. This magical moods of summer penetrate us with enthusiasm and warmth while we dream the ‘Midsummer’s Dreams.’

With autumn approaching the days mellow. We experience the sun’s weakening influence on earth and the softening of the light. As the sun withdraws from the hemisphere the earth mother inhales with certainty the life forces back into her womb. Temperatures fall and growth processes slow down. Leaves fall from their branches and seeds drop to the ground. We bring the harvest to the root cellar and put the garden to rest. As winter draws nearer our thinking crystallizes, courage builds up and our sense of inner light strengthens.

During these coming winter month try to express the moods of each season through writing, drawing, painting, music, sculpturing or poetry. These delicious baked cinnamon apples will surely set the mood for the winter mood.

    Baked Cinnamon Apples

Cinnamon and apples go well together in this warming and relaxing dessert, suited for fall. Use a variety of apples and discover how they differ in sweetness and crunch.

    3 tablespoons walnuts
    4 apples
    1 tablespoon light miso
2 tablespoons freshly ground peanut butter (optional)
    2 tablespoons water
    1 tablespoon cinnamon

Soak the walnuts in lightly salted water 4-6 hours. Drain and chop them fine.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Core the apples with an apple corer or spoon. Make sure not to cut all the way through the apple.

In a small bowl mix the miso and peanut butter. Add water, cinnamon and chopped walnuts.

Spoon 1 tablespoon of the filling into each apple.

Place the apples in a baking dish. Bake in the oven for 15-20 minutes or until soft.

    Death Of The Patriarchy
    Rebirth Of The Earth
    Part Two
Written & Illustrated By Roslyne Sophia Breillat

“Return to me!” she cries so silently and powerfully... And where is She, this sacred mystery of the Earth? Where can She be found, right now, in this tenacious world of turmoil, greed, corruption, changing thoughts, changing climate, changing opinions, shifting energies, shifting seas, shifting lands, shifting sands? Can you see her? Can you touch her? Can you receive her? Can you give to her? Can you feel her sacred mystery? And perhaps She is not in this world, or of this world? Perhaps She is beyond this world? Perhaps She is so simply, beautifully, sacredly and mysteriously of this Earth?

Her natural realm and natural place are not amidst this world of politics, war and terror, for her realm is beyond this dark patriarchal wound that spreads so insidiously across our Earth Mother’s belly. And which other wounds do we inflict upon her? And upon which politicians are you venting the unhealed anger from deep within your father wound? And where upon this beautiful Earth are you venting the unhealed grief from deep within your mother wound? And where are your prayers? Where is your dance? Where is your song? How often do you fervently worship upon the altar of the patriarchal world’s fast-paced God of busyness? How often do you pause, right now, welcome the sacred feminine, inhale her scent, breathe deeply of her air, imbibe the miraculous beauty of her creatures, flowers, forests, oceans, plants? And what of her power? The patriarchy cannot be present with the creative power the feminine essence, the universal power of her womb, the ecstatic power of her orgasms. And so it flees, into fear, domination, misogyny, control and misuse of masculine power.

There will be no patriarchal world arising from the destruction. Perhaps there will be no civilisation, no world at all. There will be no patriarchal father figure arising from the final devastation, or appearing from the clouds, to lead the way, to authoritatively guide us into unknown territory, to tenderly hold our hands, as if we are its tiny dependent children, waiting to be told what to do next. There will be the stillness and the silence of the sacred mystery. As there is now. And perhaps the sacred feminine will at last be perceived and felt and loved and honoured and heard.

This patriarchy dishonours the Earth, the sacred feminine and the sacred masculine, dishonours life, dishonours love. This patriarchy is founded upon distortion of the truth, upon misguided thoughts of separation and greed. And yet there are no thoughts within a woman’s womb mystery or the Earth’s womb mystery, no separation, no greed. A woman is not someone who has a womb. For the feminine IS the womb, as the Earth IS the womb. This patriarchy is driven by the self-gratifying greed of the unconscious penis. And yet there is no greed within the pure consciousness of the sacred masculine’s phallus. The patriarchy is a cunning thief that has stolen the sacred from the masculine, from the feminine, from the natural realm, from the Earth. There is no wisdom, no truth, in a civilisation that denies and belies the sacredness of the Earth, of life, of love, that destroys Mother Nature’s transforming seasons, planetary cycles, intricate ecosystems, the ancient integrity of her wise, wild ways. There is no love in a solar civilisation that suppresses and ignores the natural lunar cycles of the sacred feminine. The shocks, fear, terror, disturbances and concerns for our Earth right now are very real, but from where do they arise? Fear of an illusory future? Fear of running out of illusory time? Fear of what is so obviously coming to the Earth? Fear that the patriarchy has forsaken all that is decent, honest, pure, loving, real, true, wise? Fear of being destroyed by a corrupt world of false security, instead of giving wholeheartedly to our only real security, the security of the Earth? Fear of losing the unrealistic hopes of this linear patriarchal world upon which we so falsely and ignorantly and childishly depend, as if it is the almighty male power, the almighty male God, that sustains all of life? What is needed upon this Earth to cleanse the myriad layers of corruption, greed, cleverness and disdain from the shining mirror of pure consciousness?

You are a woman of this female Earth. You are not a child of this male world. Do not allow the insanity of this distorted world to inhibit your wildness, deny your freedom, suppress your passion, stifle your love, invade your body, dishonour your power... Pause... Now... Breathe... Now... Be still... Now... Be... Now... Gather the natural beauty of the feminine and of the Earth into your home, your heart, your hearth, your womb, your life... Tenderly welcome the simple joy within the present moment... Become deeply touched by all that is real, that is true... Return to all that is sane... Do not become a slave to the madness of this patriarchal world... Allow this pristine and powerful gift of gratitude to rise from deep within your womb... Give thanks for all that you receive... Embrace the natural beauty of the Earth... Imbibe her sacred mystery... Align with her sacred ways... Rest deeply within this profoundly mysterious womb of the sacred feminine... Give... Give... Give again and again and yet again... Yet only give to whatever deepens your love, integrity, wisdom, joy, power... Receive... Deeply, softly, gently... Return to this sacred mystery... Be still... Now...

This six week online course provides a sacred and nurturing space where woman can learn to surrender more deeply to the natural receptivity of the female psyche. "...so blessed to have had gentle words of encouragement and support from you through the "Being Woman" course at W.W.U.... You have inspired me to continue my quest... Thanks so much!"

~ Dawning of Wisdom ~ (detailed description of Dawning of Wisdom online course)

Throughout this series of lessons she will learn to trust the innate flow of her intuitive nature and to listen more intimately to the wellspring of her inner source. And we will explore together how to live more fully as the embodiment of the feminine essence within the structures of a masculine civilisation.

"I LOVE your class, it is beautiful and thought provoking and well done... Thank you Sophia for your role as wisdom keeper, confidante and mentor."

How to Find Your Spirit Animal & Set Your Intentions for the Libra New Moon
    by Kathy Crabbe

Libra New Moon Spirit Animal: Sea Horse

Libra energy is charged by beauty. Sea Horse reminds us to treasure the small, delicate, beautiful joys in our daily life. You can bring Sea Horse energy into you life by purchasing the painting pictured above on my Libra Altar as a signed print + poem or original.

Find Your Treasures - They Are All Around You

Take a moment during this New Moon to go within and give thanks for all the treasures in your life now. Use the 5 elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water, Spirit to help you tap into these treasures.  Here are mine.

Earth Treasure: I treasure the land I live on. I'm in the countryside of Southern California near the Temecula Wine Region and I'm surrounded by ancient oaks and an elfin forest.

Air Treasure: I treasure the clouds that happen infrequently here, so are appreciated even more.

Fire Treasure: I treasure the creative spark within all beings; our connection with Source.

Water Treasure: I treasure the deep, nurturing, underground creeks that run underneath our land supplying our ten ancient Oaks with sustenance.

Spirit Treasure: I treasure YOU, the Divine God/dess within each of us.

    Find Your Spirit Animal

Close your eyes and imagine a beautiful place in nature. What animal, bird or insect appears to you? Of what element is this animal? If red, perhaps Fire Element, if blue, Water Element, if a flying insect, Air Element and if a burrowing creature, like a groundhog, perhaps Earth Element - you decide.
    New Moon Intentions

The best time to set your intentions for the month ahead is at the exact time of the New Moon or as close as you can get to it. This New Moon is in Libra and occurs on October 19, 2017 at 12:12 pm Pacific Time.

Sending you sparkly blessings and love from my enchanted heart to yours,
    Kathy Crabbe
