Solstice Joy to You!
The longest night has passed and the though the worst of the cold is yet to come, days grow longer. The Light Returns. This, to me, is the “true” meaning of all winter celebrations: The Light Has Returned. However you wish to symbolize it – with the miracle of the oil, the miracle of the virgin birth, or any other miracle of your choice – the Light Returns!
Celebrate! Fast away the old year passes. . . ! The Light Has Returned. Smile.
Is it spring or winter? Here in the Catskills, and across the Northeast, we have no snow, and temperatures in the 40s, 50s, and even 60s, so no hope of snow. I miss the cold, but don’t mind being able to continue to work on rebuilding the barn (photos here) and able to put wild salad on my table for the seasonal celebrations. When I went out my front door today, instead of the usual December icicles, I found cresses blooming.
My daughter Justine (and her family) is already in Costa Rica, preparing for the season of retreats and workshops at their home. I will be on my way there too, soon, to meet the nine women participating in our Healing Adventure 2016. Want to fantasize about joining us there in 2017? Photos and info here.
If you missed last week’s ezine, go back and check it out. I invited you all to celebrate my seventieth and Justine’s fiftieth birthdays in the coming year in a variety of ways, including going with me on a trip along memory lane. Here are some more photos of Justine and Susun from the late 1960s. Enjoy.
Let the lengthening days draw you into dreams of your future and intuitions of the distant past.
Let the cold air waken your senses and remind you to follow your dreams.
Green blessings are everywhere.
