Forget Fire Cider
Forget Fire Cider

by Susun Weed

Fire cider relies on excessive stimulation, and, as is always true with stimulants, natural or otherwise, winds up weakening us and leaving us more vulnerable to viruses. Instead, try this yummy sweet cider for healthy immunity.

1 gallon organic sweet cider (fermented cider works well too)

2 or more sticks cinnamon

2-4 ounces dried elderberry

1 or more ounces fresh ginger cut in chunks

1-2 teaspoons dried organic orange peel

A bit of nutmeg, allspice, or cloves may be added

Pour cider (or organic apple juice) into a large pot and heat over high flame.

Add all other ingredients. . .

Including some I haven't included, if you wish, like: 1 ounce astragalus, Eleuthero, schisandra, goji berries, rose hips

Bring to a rolling boil. (It may foam up. No problem.)

Turn off heat and put a tight lid in the pot.

Let it steep for at least four hours.

Reheat to almost boiling to serve.

Makes 10 servings of 12 ounces each.

Keeps refrigerated for a week.
