Spiraling

ree

Getting ready to teach a new class series on The Three Traditions.

Starting a Jan 19, at Wisdom Feed.

.

The Wise Woman spiral.

The Heroic circle.

The Scientific straight line.

"Health care can suit you better. Forget the confusion of trying to figure out which practitioner, which treatment, which remedy, or which diet is best for you. Once you understand the Three Traditions, all becomes clear. You can easily choose what will work best for your body and your psyche."

Scientific linear certified fixity can be just right.

Heroic balancing and cleansing appeal to many.

Wise Woman spiraling nourishment is the oldest way.

I'm illustrating my ideas with full color art that I'm creating.

I asked myself to make three art pieces for each tradition's form.

Virtual quilts of natural, living things.

The Wise Woman tradition spirals into wholeness.

That's easy.

Galaxies spiral.

Shells spiral.

Tendrils and fiddleheads spiral.

Plenty of images to choose from.

(My friend Candace Cave favors the möbius.)

The Heroic tradition secures a circle of correctness.

Sinkholes are circular.

Rainbows are circular.

Flowers are often based on circles.

We perceive globes — like the moon — as circles.

And we make medicine wheels and stone circles.

Crop circles and covers for sacred wells.

Fewer images; had to include created circles in addition to natural ones.

(Turns out most natural circles aren't really circular.)

The Scientific tradition fixes on straight lines.

Straight is not common in nature.

The arrow of time.

Arrow shafts are made of reeds.

There's straight: cattails, rushes, sedges, reeds, bulrushes, tall grass.

That's one illustration.

And as I looked for photos of straight grasses,

I saw more straight lines: edges, horizons, demarcations.

There's another.

But, mostly, straight lines are made by us:

Roads, canals, fences, knives, skyscrapers.

(So many stunning sunset photos are marred by utility lines in the frame.)

Not only will these illustrate my course,

I'm making copies

And stitching mitochondria into them

Hiding goddesses in them.

And sharing them with you.

Enjoy.

It is in beauty.

It is a giveaway dance of breath.

Hearts beating as one with the earth's heartbeat.

Surrounded by green blessings.

Gratitude

Joy
